Teknosophy, LLC - The Computer Exorcist

Marc-Anthony Arena is founder and President of Teknosophy, LLC. He's an honors graduate of both McQuaid Jesuit and RIT's Saunders College of Business, studying Entrepreneurship, Spanish, and Russian. He has extensive Windows, Mac, Mint, and electronics experience, and a knack for explaining tech concepts in Plain English.

In 2009, he started Teknosophy (rhymes with "philosophy", and means "technical wisdom") as a side gig to help friends and family with their home computers. Not long after he began to realize a few things:

The world is full of intelligent, successful people who are overwhelmed by technology.

This stuff gets more complicated and unreliable by the day.

The condescending jokers people hire to protect them have no clue what's going on, and think virus scanners and updates are going to protect us from the new threats.

This isn't a local problem. Everyone is suffering everywhere.

In order to debunk the myths, he taught adult ed classes and hosted a local talk show for 10 years. In 2017, he wrote the book "How to Protect Yourself from Your Computer" explaining the concepts, scams, and scandals of the IT industry.

In 2023 he launched "The Computer Exorcist Podcast" to raise worldwide awareness on what the tech industry is doing to us.

He explains basic tech concepts with humor, anecdotes, and analogies, and teaches people how to protect themselves from industry scams such as: Legalized Spyware, Fake WiFi, Update Attacks, Support Scams, Forced Obsolescence, Smart TV, Cloud Control, Subscription Software Milking Schemes, and privacy issues.
